Levels of frustration

In every part of your life you feel different levels of frustration, from when you are a baby to adulthood the level goes up and down, but it is always there in the background. Watching a baby cry for everything it needs, parents then develop a 6th sense of what the cry means, like decoding the Morse code. As the baby begins to turn over it firstly brings its knee up and flicks it out to create enough momentum to turn over then promptly cries; funny little things.

Then once it has learned how to turn over, it starts to work out the mechanics of crawling and is often seen face down in the carpet, sobbing with a face full of snot and tears getting very frustrated with the lack of forward progress. Once crawling has been mastered clinging on to things, like a drunk leaving the pub, the little one makes it to an upright position only to fall over, and then repeat the process several hundred times; quite a work out.

When you see your child walk for the first time, it is an amazing experience, then the fun begins. The little human then develops the skills of a ninja it can walk, climb tumble, and break fall but with this new-found skill the world becomes a dangerous place. Many a time I have seen Molly and Erin look like they are at the prison bars (stairgate) trying to work out how to get through them over them or under them like the men out of the great escape film.

When they become toddlers, they seem to be always trying to play with the older children much to the annoyance of the older ones and the frustration of the little one. There is nothing like watching the frustration of the littlest member playing piggy in the middle when the older ones keep throwing the ball higher, so that the little one temper brakes; it seems like a rite of passage generation after generation.

School days give rise to frustration from holding your hand up in class when you have the correct answer when the teacher only ever asks the popular kids to liking someone in secondary school, when you are firmly held in the “friend zone”; A heart-breaking place to be leading to listening to loves songs of lost relationships and heavy metal as you turn your frustration into anger.

Relationships can be very frustrating due to many things, sometimes you find yourself taking your partner for granted and not seeing the person you fell in love with as you both juggle life kids, work, tiredness, family life and illness or injury. I am guilty as charged of this, but I love my beautiful wife Kerry with all my heart but sometimes I know that I frustrate her more than any other living thing in the world; for that I am truly sorry xx

In life, you sometimes feel like you are just hanging on by your fingernails (as in my blog book available in amazon and kindle a great gift for all your family)

When sometimes you feel like a second-class citizen, the frustration of not living your life to the full or you are not where you pictured yourself either work, house, car or in your eyes social standing. Everyone has struggles and frustrating times in their life and they feel like they are just treading water, the answer is to keep going, rest if you must but just keep going; Patience helps lessen the levels you feel in frustration.

Just as a white belt can become a black belt when everyone you started with has stopped due to my different things; You can achieve you goals and dreams if you manager your levels of frustration.

This is never easy but inch by inch mile by mile you will move forward with your life, it never stops, you can remember the past frustrations, but it should not be your future, learn to manager them, use them for the good in your life and those around you.

Until next time

Big love from the AFC
